Game drives and game walks are offered on a daily basis. Please consult with your guide for the departure times. Game walks take place in the mornings only and are dependent on the size of the group and the season. Walks are restricted to children under 16 years and only those who are reasonably fit. SUMMER TIME
- Brunch will be served around 09:00 after the morning wildlife activity once returned at the main area. Your guide will discuss the times with you.
- High-Tea will be served at 15:30 at the main area and your field guide will take your drink orders which you will enjoy on the afternoon game drive that departs at 16:00.
- Dinner will be served after pre-dinner drinks around the firepit which is served communally. You are welcome at anytime for pre-dinner drinks but dinner will be served at 20:30.
The bar is open from 08:00 am until 12:00 pm every day. Drinks are served at the pool during the day.
The water from the taps is safe to drink. Our water comes from a water source under the ground and is pumped to a water purification system at the lodge. There is however bottled water for your use in the mini bar fridges. Please remember that water is a scarce commodity in Africa and should be used sparingly. Your co-operation in this regard is much appreciated.
Hot water to the rooms is provided by a gas heating system, which for your safety is situated a short distance away from the room. Please allow a short period of time for the hot water to reach you. If you do not receive hot water please contact management.
The rooms are equipped with hair dryers, which operate off a standard South African 220V plug. Adaptors for the hair dryers are provided in the rooms. Please do not use the Electric shaver plugs in the cupboards for the hair dryers as these operate off a lower voltage.
Due to our location, laundry service will take a full day when required.
Unlimited Wifi is available anywhere on property, however the signal is not too strong especially on overcast and rainy days. Wifi details: Legacy-Wifi (once selected it will automatically connect)
The rock pool is located behind Chalet number 14 next to the open fire area at the restaurant. Please note that Tshukudu cannot accept any liability for the use of the pool. The deep end of the pool is furthest from the steps and only 1.3 metres deep. Pool cushions and towels are provided at the pool. Please do not use the towels from the chalets.
On the eve of your departure a questionnaire will be placed in your room for completion. It would be greatly appreciated if you could take the time to complete it. This is in order to improve our quality of standards in the lodge. Tripadvisor reviews will be highly appreciated.
Should you experience any problems in your unit please notify any of the staff or management.
This is at your discretion. If you wish to give your field guide a gratuity please give it directly to them. Any gratuities you may wish to leave for the lodge staff should please be placed in the envelopes provided and given to the manager on your departure.
Outstanding accounts are payable on departure at our offices at Bakubung. Accounts can be settled with either Cash or Credit Cards (We accept most major credit cards). We regret that cheques are not accepted unless prior arrangements are made.
