Swakopmund Reopens

Dec 17, 2021

After being closed for nearly 21 months since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the landmark Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre in Namibia’s premier tourism mecca, Swakopmund, is pleased to announce that it will be reopening its doors to guests on 17 December 2021.

The decision to reopen the hotel comes ahead of the notoriously busy festive season, which is much anticipated by the 155 staff the hotel employs.

Our hotel has and always will be the heart and soul of the Swakopmund area. We are looking forward to breathing life back into it by welcoming our guests back in time for the holiday season,” says Robert Hodson, COO of Legacy Hotels & Resorts.

Situated on the Skeleton Coast of Namibia, the Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre was built in and around the old Railway Station in 1994, making it one of the few hotels to be steeped in the rich history of the area.

The hotel offers holiday seekers a plethora of activities including desert tours, dolphin cruises, dune boarding, camel riding and even desert golf.

Guests can further enjoy excellent cuisine at the elegant, Victorian-style Platform One restaurant, as well as play a variety of games, including American Roulette, Stud Poker, Blackjack and slot machines, at the Mermaid Casino in the Entertainment Centre.
