Mich Gourmet Dinners

Jul 26, 2018

Good food, good wine and great company — a tried and trusted recipe for the perfect night out.

The ultimate pairing of fine wine and decadent food forms the basis of the gourmet dinners at The Piccolo Mondo Restaurant at the Michelangelo Hotel. This month’s event, held on the 6th of July, showcased an array of wines from the Bellingham Winery including the exquisite Bernard Series which, combined with decadent dishes by Piccolo Mondo’s Head Chef Trevor Boyd creates a paradise for any foodie.

The dinners which take place on a monthly basis provide the perfect opportunity for wine producers to showcase their exclusive selection of wines, and for food lovers to enjoy dishes that complement each choice.

Some of the dishes served at the event included; cider glazed pork belly with dijon mustard, horseradish, leek fricassee, peas, and a maple jus — served with Bellingham Homestead Chardonnay. As well as a tomato lamb Bredie with chorizo, bacon, a white bean purée, and a jus — served with Bellingham Bernard Series Small Barrel SMV. The Piccolo Mondo Gourmet Dinners are definitely a feast for the eyes and the palate and are defiantly not to be missed.

Keep a lookout for our next Gourmet Dinner coming up later this month.
