The commercial capital of Africa, Sandton is certainly all things luxurious, opulent and trendy. From the towering sky scrapers to the high-end shops of Diamond Walk. The heart of Sandton’s retail and commercial hub has received the title “Africa’s Richest Square Mile." Legacy Hotels most renowned hotels and developments are also located in the “Africa’s Richest Square Mile” namely the Michelangelo, DAVINCI, The Leonardo and The Raphael are situated in this wealthy area. I enjoy my trips to Sandton for a little retail, dinning and lifestyle therapy. I recently had the pleasure of spending a summer weekend at the renowned DAVINCI Hotel and Suites which was certainly all things stylish and sophisticated.

The DAVINCI experience commences from your arrival! After my flight from Harare and Gautrain trip to Sandton, The DAVINCI car and shuttle service picks you up from the Gautrain. Guests receive an elegant welcoming as the hotel chauffer’s you in the latest luxury vehicle, from your pick up its nothing but VIP treatment. Friendly staff welcome you at the Maude street entrance and escort you to the stylish front desk for check in. The hotel’s entrance is lavishly decorated with its signature opulent white and black theme running throughout the hotel.

The elegant yet bold interior designs are complimented by a large centred chandelier and a spiralling contemporary stair case as well as mirrors add to the lush ambiance. The lounge and reception area also lead you to the modern infinity pool area completed by the striped pool chairs maintaining their monochrome theme. The DAVINCI pool area is especially popular in summer with both hotel guests and visitors. For me, it was the perfect opportunity to relax from business meetings and retail visits. Summer cocktails poolside, gourmet burgers and music in the backdrop is certainly the best way to relax in Sandton.

The recently renovated Maximillen restaurant is the official restaurant offering delicious meals overlooking the surrounding Sandton streets and towering buildings. Breakfasts were especially a favourite during the week as one feels the morning pulse of Sandton particularly in the sun roof section of the restaurant. For the foodie, there is also a variety of tasty food on offer from fresh juices, cheeses, decedent crepes to traditional breakfast items and baked goodies.

Another highlight of the DAVINCI Hotel is its Spa! I do enjoy a good spa treatment as some of you may know, a massage and facial is all I need to help rejuvenate my body and get my mind refreshed. The perfect solution and treat for the hotel guest wanting to de-stress from business pressures.

The DAVINCI is certainly a contemporary, opulent and stylish hotel experience for the guest visiting Africa’s commercial capital. Its location in the heart of Nelson Mandela Square and Sandton City make it a business travellers’ dream and retail lover’s haven. The luxurious hotel is for the stylish guest looking for a contemporary haven in the fast-paced Sandton, a must when in Africa’s Richest Square Mile. Book your stay here: bit.ly/2TeS9yl
